At Poland Presbyterian Church, we are a Christian community that cares for one another. Here, you will find ways to find support in the seasons of life. We have many ways for you to receive distinctively Christian care and compassion. Whether it be the care of one our pastors, or the care and support provided by one of our small groups or support groups, there is a place here for you to receive comfort and strength in every season and circumstance of life.
In case of a pastoral care emergency please call the church office at 330-757-1547. The office will notify one of our pastors immediately and one of them will respond promptly.
Is someone you know in the hospital, or would you like to pass along other concerns? Please call Dr. Anderson or at 330-757-1547 (church) . You may also put your concern on the church’s Prayer Chain by contacting Carol Carr or completing the online prayer request under the Links/Forms tab above.
Support Groups
Grief Support Group
4:00-5:30pm - 1st Thursday of the month
Cost: $5/per person/per session fee
“The journey called grief is not one we would choose, nor is it one we can skip. The journey of grief never ends. It is not something we ‘get over.’ Learning about grief is key in finding ways to cope and live with it.” (Debra May Cerra, www.grieflivingwithloss.com)
Few events can affect our lives as powerfully as a significant loss. Death, separation, major life changes, divorce – all conjure up different thoughts and feelings and put us on a journey called grief.
Grief is difficult to describe. It carries a host of emotions. Grieving can be painful and demanding. It is not discriminatory. We enter the grief journey just when we think we cannot go on; when we feel as if we can give no more; when we sense that we are alone and lonely.
One way to embrace grief is to stay connected to others. “Grief Support Groups” give opportunity for people to share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings in an informal, compassionate, and understanding atmosphere. And through that sharing healing – profound healing – can and will come.
Discussion will cover the many facets of grief and ways to cope with personal emotions and feelings. All who are grieving are invited to attend this group. This may be a difficult step to take but if you’ve experienced loss that is significant to you, please come. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Debra May Cerra (cell: 856-912-1202).
Home Communion Ministry
Ordained deacons and members of our worship committee serve in teams of two to bring communion from the community to members who are homebound. Communion is taken directly from the Lord's Table on communion Sundays (usually the first Sunday of each month) by the teams. Please let the church know if you or a loved one would like to have communion brought to them.
Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon
AA Closed Meeting: Tuesday evenings, Community Room, 8:00 p.m.
