The
Mission
Committee
promotes
the
ministry
of
benevolence
within
the
congregation.
It
recommends
and
reviews
annually
a
list
of
local
agencies,
organizations
or
programs
to
receive
a
portion
of
the
church
benevolence
and
selects
those
for
financial
support
with
Session
approval.
The
church
should
not
simply
call
believers
into
its
fellowship,
but
should
focus
that
fellowship
outward
toward
the
needs,
the
injustice
and
the
hungers
that
are
present
in
the
community,
the
state,
the
nation
and
the
world.
As
Christ
visited
the
sick
and
the
bereaved,
fed
the
hungry
and
ministered
to
the
poor,
so,
also
Christians
are
to
share
their
gifts
of
the
Spirit,
their
time,
their
possessions
and
their
lives
with
people
in
need.
